Stretched Thin, Stretched Tight

About Stretched Thin, Stretched Tight series

On the occasion of my grandmother Lola’s 100th birthday, I viewed albums of early 20th century black and white photographs. This also coincided with the reclaiming of the many years worn canvas from my work table.

This series very straight forwardly, examines the record of her life, or rather my memory of it as an artifact of my own history and place of origin, while paying tribute to her. It is printed on the aged and often torn canvas with references to marking the passage of time and the concept of regeneration.
